Chahan Minassian describes himself as an “eye.”

His eye: sharp, precise, selective and refined. It’s the eye he uses as an interior designer, decorator, collector, gallery owner, antique dealer and designer.
Of Armenian origin, born in Lebanon, he settled in France in 1976 and has since upheld a very international lifestyle.

Following his Interior Design studies in Paris, his first experience was as the European Creative Director for the prestigious Ralph Lauren fashion house, defining the rhythm of his projects and travels for seven years.

In 1993, Chahan created his own “Chahan Interior Design” agency in Paris. His projects multiplied quickly from Canada to Japan by way of Europe, as he developed commercial interior spaces for luxury brands, before taking on important residential projects worldwide.

In 1999, Chahan Interior Design settled in its current home, at 12 rue de Beaune, with an exclusive showroom where he meets his clients. This space allows him to develop his interiors and atmospheres with his signature haute couture finishes.

This multicultural activity, combined with his esthetics, has allowed him to define and impose a “Chahanian” style. It is an association of textures, light, rare collectables, clean lines, strong historical references and timeless design, all presented in a luxurious, serene and personalized setting.

Since 2001, he has been able to share his vision, esthetics and passion for 1930’s to 1970’s American designers with the public through world-renowned shows, including the Salon du XXème Siècle, the Pavillon des Antiquaires, the Pavillon of Art and Design (PAD), and the AD Intérieurs exhibitions.

The Presidential Office installed in the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris for the AD Intérieurs exhibition in the summer of 2014 had a very strong impact and remains a strong visual reference to his style.

Parisian clientele sensitive to Chahan’s work has expanded and his Interior projects have grown steadily. Art collectors follow his advice, and he presents contemporary artists in his own showroom, including the works of Nancy Lorenz, Peter Lane, Shizue Imai and Antoinette Faragallah.

Chahan Gallery opened in February of 2008, at 11 rue de Lille, at the heart of Paris’ prestigious  ‘Carré Rive Gauche’ antiques area. Highly visible and easily accessible to his clients, this space allows him to present mid-century furniture collections and to host exhibitions of the artists he promotes.

In August 2010, Chahan Minassian and his cousin, the fine Jewelry Designer Vram Minassian, masterminded the stunning Gray Gallery concept in Los Angeles. This exquisitely decorated space presents unique art and ceramics alongside unparalleled vintage and custom designed jewelry.

In March 2011, he designed the M Building in Miami’s Art District. The result is a stunning showroom on the US East Coast.

Chahan’s current projects include chalets in Gstaad, a bank in Zurich, homes in Geneva and Mustique, prestigious apartments in New York and London, a palace hotel in Paris and a 100-meter private yacht.
